Sensation spread across the area after the decomposed body of a missing man was recovered.
A man had been missing since December 27. Missing diary reports were filed at both Gazole Police Station and Old Malda Police Station, but even after 12 days there was no trace of him. Finally, on Wednesday afternoon, the decomposed body of the missing person was recovered from a small pond in the Gazole block.
On Wednesday afternoon, a local resident noticed a decomposed body floating in the water of a pond located about one and a half kilometers from the victim’s home, in the Muria Kundu Palpara area under Alal region of Gazole block. As the news spread, panic and tension gripped the locality. Upon receiving information, Gazole Police quickly reached the spot.
The police recovered the body from the pond and informed the family members of the missing person. Later, the body was identified as that of Bhiya Tudu (45), who had gone missing 12 days earlier. His home is in Muria Kundu Belpukur village under the Alal region of Gazole block.
According to local sources, Bhiya Tudu’s original home was in the Old Malda block. He had been living as a resident son-in-law at his in-laws’ house for the past seven years. After the death of his father-in-law, he had been looking after his in-laws’ land and property. He went missing on December 27, and a missing diary was filed at Gazole Police Station the same day.
The police took the body to the morgue of Gazole State General Hospital. The mysterious death of the missing man has cast a pall of grief and tension over the area.
