Malda: Even after a year, the mystery behind Babla Sarkar’s murder remains unsolved; wife Chaitali Ghosh Sarkar raises questions again from the memorial meeting

Even after a year has passed, the real motive behind the murder of Trinamool Congress leader and English Bazar councillor Babla Sarkar remains unclear. Although several leaders and workers of the ruling party have been arrested in connection with the killing, questions about why the brutal murder took place and on whose instructions it was carried out are still shrouded in mystery. Once again, these doubts and questions were raised publicly by Babla Sarkar’s wife, Chaitali Ghosh Sarkar, who is also the Chairperson of the Malda district Trinamool Congress.

On Thursday, while attending a memorial meeting held in the Mahananda Pally area of English Bazar town on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Babla Sarkar, Chaitali Ghosh Sarkar reignited the issue of the “mastermind” behind the murder. She stated, “It is still not clear who killed Babla or why he was murdered. I have many doubts in my mind. I am still waiting for a proper and impartial investigation so that the real truth comes out.”

It may be recalled that exactly a year ago, Trinamool councillor and Malda district Trinamool Congress vice-president Babla Sarkar was chased and brutally shot dead multiple times at a short distance from his home. During the investigation, police arrested several Trinamool leaders, including English Bazar Town president Narendra Nath Tiwari. They are currently in judicial custody.

However, even after all this time, the reasons behind why the arrested accused killed Babla Sarkar or on whose directions they acted remain unclear. This lack of clarity regarding the real motive behind the murder has left Babla Sarkar’s family deeply distressed and angry. Once again, his wife Chaitali Ghosh Sarkar has strongly raised these unanswered questions.
