Sujapure Assembly constituency witnessed a stir in political circles after a major announcement by Sattar Sheikh, Trinamool Congress Panchayat Samiti member from Alipuri-1 Gram Panchayat under Kaliachak-1 Block. He stated that if the party declares him as its candidate in the upcoming Assembly elections, he will donate 12 free AC ambulances for the 12 regions of the Sujapur Assembly constituency on the very day of the announcement.

Sattar Sheikh has long been associated with various social welfare and public service activities. His continuous support to people in distress, along with his focus on healthcare services and social assistance, has steadily increased his popularity in the area. According to his close associates, this public support played a key role in his notable success in the Panchayat Samiti elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Sattar Sheikh said, “I have tried to stand by the people throughout the year. In this Assembly election, people want a candidate who is rooted in the area, not an outsider. I have visited all 12 regions of the Sujapur Assembly constituency, and everywhere people are demanding my candidature from the Trinamool Congress.”

He further added that prioritising healthcare services is the main reason behind his decision to donate the ambulances. His announcement has triggered intense political discussions across the constituency.
