PM Modi encouraged us to keep producing and designing in India: Pichai Sundar
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roundtable discussion with notable CEOs of international tech companies in New York, the PM emphasized artificial intelligence (AI) and urged the tech companies to advance AI so that “it benefits people of India.”
Following the discussion, Sundar Pichai emphasized how Google’s initiatives are in line with India’s goal of technological advancement, saying, “It is Digital India vision.” We are encouraged to keep designing and manufacturing in India by Prime Minister Modi. The fact that Pixel phones are being produced in India makes us proud.”
Noting that PM Modi is “really thinking about how AI can transform India in ways that benefit its people,” he emphasized the progressive nature of his approach to AI. In order to assist India’s change, he pushed us to investigate applications in the fields of healthcare, education, and agriculture in addition to concentrating on the country’s infrastructure, including data centers, electricity, and energy.”
“We are proud to be partnering with India,” Pichai said, summarizing Google’s commitment to expanding AI in India. Here, we are investing heavily in AI and plan to do so even more. Numerous initiatives and collaborations are currently operational.”

He went on to say that although PM Modi has always encouraged them to do more for India, the challenge now includes AI.
“He is aware of the prospects that artificial intelligence (AI) offers, but he is still committed to making sure that AI benefits the Indian people. Pichai said, “His leadership is centered on ensuring AI serves the greater good.
The meeting took place on Sunday, the second day of PM Modi’s three-day visit to the US, at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel. Among those in attendance were Noubar Afeyan, chairman of Moderna, and Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM.
“Had a productive roundtable discussion about technology, innovation, and other topics with tech CEOs in New York. emphasized the advancements India has made in this area as well. In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi stated, “I am happy to see immense optimism towards India.”Â
