Ronaldo Goal Helps Pioli Secure Inaugural Win as Al Nassr Coach
Cristiano Ronaldo‘s decisive goal propelled Al Nassr to a 3-0 victory over Al Ettifaq, marking a successful debut for new coach Stefano Pioli. The Italian tactician, previously at the helm of AC Milan, replaced Luis Castro after the club’s underwhelming start to the season.
Ronaldo, who had missed Al Nassr‘s previous match due to illness, converted a penalty to open the scoring. Salem Al-Najdi and Anderson Talisca added to the tally in the second half, securing Al Nassr’s fourth position in the Saudi Pro League standings.
Meanwhile, Ivan Toney’s brace helped Al Ahli to a 4-2 win over Damac. The former Brentford striker, who joined Al Ahli in August, also assisted Gabri Veiga’s goal. Roberto Firmino also contributed to Al Ahli’s victory.
Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, the current league leaders, are set to face off in a highly anticipated match.
