Bhutan King and PM visit the Gujarati port of Mundra, home of Adani Khavda energy project.
During a two-day visit to Gujarat, a high-level delegation from Bhutan, led by Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, saw the Adani Group’s flagship infrastructure projects in Mundra and Khavda.

The purpose of the tour was to look at prospects for broad sectoral collaboration. The largest commercial port in India is located in Mundra, and Adani is developing the largest renewable energy complex in the world in Khavda. Adani’s experience in major infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on the transition to green energy and net-zero emissions targets, is highlighted by this visit.
Hydropower, transmission lines, the cement sector, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and urban development like Gelephu Mindfulness City were among the main topics of discussion. Renowned for its abundant hydropower resources, Bhutan has partnered with Adani on the 570 MW Wangchhu Hydropower Project with the goal of supporting its economy and helping to meet the demands of the surrounding area for energy.
The Adani Group is committed to improving regional energy security and sustainability, as evidenced by its 20-year deal with Sri Lanka for wind power plants and its export of power from the Godda Power Plant to Bangladesh.
