Tirupati Laddu Controversy Sparks Outrage in Ayodhya
A controversy surrounding the ingredients used in the Tirupati laddu, a revered offering from the Tirupati Temple, has erupted. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, expressed his anger after it was revealed that 300 kilograms of Tirupati laddu were distributed during the temple’s consecration ceremony in January.
Â
The controversy stems from allegations made by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s party that the ghee used in the laddu contained substandard ingredients, including “beef fat” and “lard.” Acharya Das vehemently denied these claims, calling them “unforgivable” and demanding a thorough investigation.
Â
Union Health Minister JP Nadda has intervened in the matter, requesting a report from the Andhra Pradesh government regarding the composition of the laddus. The controversy has ignited a debate about the purity of the Tirupati laddu and its implications for Hindu faith practices.
