Gurugram Accident Caught on Camera: Biker Killed in Wrong-Way Collision
A tragic accident occurred in Gurugram on Sunday when a biker, Akshat Garg, was killed after colliding with a car driven on the wrong side of the road. The incident took place on Golf Course Road in DLF Phase II.
Akshat, a 23-year-old resident of Dwarka, Delhi, was riding his bike with friends when the collision happened. The SUV driver was arrested but later released on bail.
The entire incident was captured on a GoPro camera mounted on one of Akshat’s friend’s bikes. The footage shows Akshat wearing a helmet and gloves as he navigates a slight turn. Suddenly, a Mahindra XUV 3XO appears from the wrong direction and crashes head-on into his bike. The impact was severe, resulting in Akshat being thrown from his bike and the SUV sustaining significant front-end damage.
Akshat’s mother expressed her frustration and demanded justice for her son, questioning why the SUV driver was released on bail. “My son is gone, but the accused slept peacefully that night,” she said, criticizing the police for not providing adequate support.
Despite a swift response from emergency services, Akshat succumbed to his injuries. The Gurugram Police has registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused. Additionally, the police have issued over 16,000 challans for wrong-side driving in August and have vowed to continue taking strict action against such offenses.
